Balaji Rice Mill

Balaji Rice Mill is located on Kota Road, just a short distance from the forest office in Baran. We are technically under the Tharsa post office in Mauda. It's a busy spot because of the road, but having the trees nearby makes it feel a bit cooler in the summer heat. We spend most of our time dealing with the grain that comes in from the surrounding farms. It’s a lot of lifting, sorting, and making sure the mill stays in good shape. It’s a tough business because you have to watch the market and the weather all the time. Our building isn't brand new, and the yard gets a bit muddy when it rains, but the equipment inside does what it's supposed to do. We don't spend much time in an office; most of the work happens right there on the floor. There are a handful of us who work here every day. We know the regular drivers and the farmers by their first names. It feels like a small community even though we are moving a lot of rice. We don't put on any airs about being a big company. We are just a local mill doing what we’ve done for years. Sometimes the machinery is stubborn, but we fix it and keep going. That is the life we have here in Mauda. We just keep our heads down and get the bags filled up.
