Our office is on the first floor of the Krishna Complex in Chinnakkada. It’s right across from the Ooramman Durga Devi Temple. If you are in Kollam, you probably know the spot. The bells from the temple are a constant background noise, especially in the mornings and evenings. It’s actually quite soothing while we work. Smartzigma Solutions Private Limited has been in this building for some time now. The complex is a bit old, but it has character. There are other small businesses around us—shops selling everything from stationary to snacks. We have a few rooms where we keep our equipment and desks. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done. We spend most of our day dealing with the usual office stuff. We don’t have a big corporate culture. If someone is tired, they take a break. If someone has a problem, they ask for help. We eat our lunch on the small balcony sometimes if it’s not too hot. The view of the street below is always interesting with all the people coming and going from the temple. We try to keep things organized, though sometimes the desks get a bit messy with papers and cables. It’s a real office for real people. We just do our work, look after our tasks, and go home when the day is done. The city life here is fast, but we manage to stay calm in our little corner of the world.
