Venkatesh Chemicals

We are located on the 2nd floor at 20 Netaji Subhas Road, right near the Calcutta GPO. Being in such an old part of the city means there’s always something going on outside. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, and the building has that old smell of dust and paper. Venkatesh Chemicals has been here for a good while. The office is full of ledgers and samples that we’ve collected over the years. It is a bit of a maze sometimes with all the boxes around. We don't have a lot of modern furniture or high-tech gadgets. We mostly stick to the way we’ve always done things. It’s a busy area, so there’s always noise from the street coming through the windows. We get used to it after a while. Most of our day is spent talking to suppliers or checking on orders. It is a hands-on kind of job. We don't sit behind fancy glass partitions. Everyone is just out in the open working together. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just work around it. That is just life in this part of town. We’ve got an old ceiling fan that wobbles a bit, but it keeps us cool enough when the humidity gets high. We don’t have a big sign outside, just a small one by the door so people know they’re in the right place. Most of our visitors are people we’ve known for years. Venkatesh Chemicals is just a steady presence on Netaji Subhas Road.
