Suman Mandal

I’m Suman Mandal, and my workspace is located at B/21A, East Rajapur in the Santoshpur area of Kolkata. It’s right near the 9 Star Club, which is a local landmark most people around here know. I’ve been working from this spot for a long time. It’s not a fancy office, just a room where I keep my equipment and all the files for the projects I’m working on. Kolkata is a busy city, and Santoshpur has its own specific vibe. I like it here because it feels like a real neighborhood. I spend my days either at my desk or out visiting sites to see how things are progressing. My work involves a lot of planning and making sure everything fits together. It can be stressful when things don't go according to plan, but that’s just part of the business. I don’t have a big staff or a corporate structure. It’s just me and some help when I need it. I try to be very direct with people about what I can do. There’s no point in overcomplicating things. People come to me when they need help with their building projects, and I do my best to get it sorted for them. The office is often full of papers and rolls of blueprints. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes, but it works for me. Being near the club means there’s always people around, which keeps things from being too quiet. It’s my home base.
