Star Signage

Star Signage is located over at 4/1C, Chetla Hat Road. We are right in the middle of things here with the Shanti Commitee nearby in Alipore. It’s an interesting neighborhood with a lot of old buildings and narrow streets. Our shop is where we make all the signs that you see around. We use different materials like metal and plastic to get things looking right. It’s a lot of cutting and measuring. Sometimes we get the measurements wrong and have to start over, which is frustrating but that’s how you learn. We aren't a big factory; we are just a local shop trying to make ends meet. The space is often cluttered with scraps of board and rolls of vinyl. We try to keep it organized, but when orders pile up, things get messy fast. We get all sorts of customers coming through Alipore. Some want a small nameplate and others want a big sign for their shop front. We treat them all the same really. We just sit here on Chetla Hat Road and do the work. The sounds of the street keep us company while we work. It’s not fancy work, but it’s honest. We don’t use big words to describe what we do. We just make signs. That is what we’ve always done and what we will keep doing as long as people need them. It gets hot in the afternoons but we have a small fan that helps a bit. We sometimes stay here late until the street goes quiet at night.
