Our place, Skypak Financial Securities Pvt Ltd, is way up on the 10th floor of the B Wing at 50 Chowringhee Road. Being that high up gives us a bit of a view of the Circus Avenue area, though we’re usually too busy with the markets to look out the window much. This is a finance office, so it’s full of screens and people talking about numbers and stocks. It’s not a silent, fancy bank environment; it’s more of a working space where things move fast. We have stacks of reports and files everywhere. The elevators in this building can be a bit slow, so we usually have to leave a few minutes early if we’re going down for lunch. The team here has been working together for quite some time, so there’s a lot of casual talk in between the serious work. It’s a practical setup with basic office furniture and a lot of cables running along the floor for the computers. We deal with the ups and downs of the financial world every day. It’s stressful sometimes, and the office can get a bit loud when things are happening on the market. We just focus on the numbers and making sure the records are kept straight. It’s just a regular office on a busy road in a busy city. Most of us bring lunch from home and eat at our desks.
