Silversand Event Management

We have been operating out of Baisakhi Abasan for several years now. Our space is at C-108/4 in Salt Lake City, which is a pretty well-known part of Kolkata. Silversand Event Management is not a big, flashy corporation. We are just a group of local people who handle the logistics for various gatherings and functions. Most days, you will find us sitting around a couple of desks piled high with notebooks and old invoices. We spend a lot of time on the phone with decorators and caterers. The traffic in Salt Lake can be a nightmare, so we spend a lot of our time just trying to make sure delivery vans arrive on time. It is not always easy. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate or a vendor cancels at the last minute, and we have to scramble to find a replacement. We don't have a polished front office. It is more of a workspace where we get things done. We know the shortcuts around the neighborhood and where to get the best supplies. We’ve seen the area change a lot over time. New shops open and old ones close, but we’ve stayed here in the abasan. We just try to be practical about everything. There are no fancy speeches here. We just look at the list of what needs to be done for an event and we start checking things off. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late at night.
