Our spot is out at R.G.M 6-47/1 in Gopalpur, Natunpara. Most people know us because of the newspapers, Anandbazar and The Telegraph. It’s a big name, but the actual day-to-day work here is much more down-to-earth than you’d think. We spend a lot of time dealing with the logistics of getting information out. The office in Natunpara isn't exactly a quiet library. There’s always someone shouting across the room or a phone ringing that nobody picks up right away. We’ve been doing this for a long time, and the building reflects that. It’s got character, let’s put it that way. We don't use much of that fancy business jargon here. We just talk about deadlines and getting the pages ready. It’s a bit of a scramble sometimes, especially when there’s a big story breaking, but we’re used to the chaos. The area around Gopalpur is growing, but we still feel like part of the old neighborhood. We have our regulars who drop by and the same people have been working the desks for years. We aren't trying to be anything other than a reliable place for news. It’s hard work and the hours can be strange, but it’s what we do. We just keep our heads down and focus on the next edition. It is a messy, fast, and loud business, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else but Natunpara.
