Shyam Sel (Pd)

Shyam Sel (Pd) is over here at 87B/5, Raja S C Mullick Road in Ramgarh. It’s a busy part of Kolkata 700047. People are always moving around outside on the pavement. Inside, we just handle the paperwork and keep things moving throughout the day. The road is always loud with horns and buses passing by. Being in West Bengal, the humidity gets to you sometimes in the afternoons. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. It is not a fancy glass building, just a regular place where work happens. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot for everyone. We have the usual office desks and some old chairs. There is a tea stall nearby where some of the guys go during their breaks. Ramgarh is a decent area to work in because you can get to most places from here quite easily. We do not really have a big sign or anything, just the address on the door. Sometimes the mail gets mixed up because the road numbers around here are a bit confusing. But the local people know where we are. It is a practical setup for Shyam Sel (Pd). We do not spend any time on decorations. It is more about getting the logs sorted and making sure the files are where they need to be. If you walk down Raja S C Mullick Road, you will see the traffic is always backed up. That is just how it is in this part of Kolkata.
