Sanjay Adhikary

Murari Pukur Road is a busy place, and that’s where you’ll find me. Sanjay Adhikary is the name on the papers, but mostly people just call out when they walk past 42/30. I’ve spent a lot of my years right here in Kolkata. The building isn't brand new, it has character. You know how it is with old city streets. There is always a lot of movement. I handle things as they come. It's mostly about showing up every morning and getting the tasks done. I don't use a computer for every little thing, some stuff is still better on paper. My desk is usually a bit of a mess with notes. People ask why I stay in this specific spot. Well, it's where I started. The neighborhood knows me. It’s not some grand operation with hundreds of employees. Just a local setup where we focus on the job at hand. Sometimes the tea man comes by twice a day and we take a short break. That’s when most of the talking happens. Life in Kolkata moves fast but at 42/30, we take it one step at a time. It's practical work. No big speeches or fancy promises. If someone needs something done, they come over and we talk. It works out. The rain in monsoon makes the road messy, but we keep the shutters up. Just a regular guy doing regular work. I don't need a lot more than that to be satisfied at the end of the day.
