Saha Chemical Products

Our shop is at 3, Jahura Bazar Lane, tucked away in the Kasba area near Ballygunge. If you know these lanes, you know they are narrow and always crowded. You have to be careful walking or you’ll bump into a rickshaw. Saha Chemical Products has been here for a long time. The building is quite old, with high ceilings and those big heavy doors. We deal with various chemical supplies, so there’s always a faint medicinal smell in the air. It’s not a place for someone who wants everything to be shiny and new. We have old wooden shelves stacked high with bottles and containers. Most of our customers have been coming to us for years. They know exactly where to find us in the lane. We spend our days measuring things out and writing labels by hand. It’s slow work sometimes, but we don’t like to rush. We have a small staff, mostly local guys from around Kasba. We take our breaks on the front step and watch the world go by. It’s a simple way to run a business. We don't have a website or anything like that, just our name on the door and our reputation in the neighborhood. We just keep doing what we’ve always done. Sometimes the rain floods the lane a bit, but we just put on our boots and keep going.
