7B Pretoria Street is where we handle things for Quaker Chemical India Ltd. It’s not a huge place, but we fit a lot into it. Dealing with industrial chemicals means we have to be very careful about how things are stored and moved around. There’s usually a faint smell of something metallic or soapy in the air when you walk in. We spend a lot of time on the phone with customers or checking on shipments that are stuck somewhere in transit. The office part of the building is a bit cramped because of all the filing cabinets we’ve accumulated over the years. We’ve got a small team here, and everyone pretty much does a bit of everything. It’s not like those big corporate offices you see on TV. We have regular desks and chairs that have seen better days. The street outside is usually busy with people walking to work or cars looking for parking spots. Sometimes the deliveries arrive at the same time and everything gets a bit chaotic for an hour or two. We just try to keep the paperwork straight and make sure the right drums go to the right people. It’s practical work. We don't spend much time worrying about the office decor. As long as the orders are moving and the bills are paid, we’re doing alright. It’s just a normal day-to-day operation here on Pretoria Street that keeps us all busy.
