Poonam Gupta

My place is in Lake Town, right in Block B at number 219. I’ve been in this part of Kolkata for a long time. It is a nice area, usually quite lively with people going to the market or just walking around the block. Being Poonam Gupta in such a big city can feel small, but in Lake Town, things feel more like a community. The building is easy to spot if you know the lanes here. I do most of my work from this address. It isn't a corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It is more of a home-style setup where I can keep track of everything without much trouble. The tea stall nearby is where I go when I need a break. Kolkata can be very loud, especially with the horns and the people talking, but inside 219, it stays mostly quiet. I like the way the light comes into the room in the afternoons. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but that is just part of living here. I don't see the need for a lot of fancy furniture. Just a table, a chair, and my things. People who know me just come over when they have something to discuss. It is straightforward. 700089 is a good pin code to be in. Everything is close enough if you don't mind a bit of a walk. I’ve grown to like the sounds of the neighborhood over the years and it feels right to be here.
