Nmdc

Nmdc is based over at 21C Gopimohan Dutta Lane in Kolkata. If you know the area around Kolkata 3, you know the streets can be a bit narrow and tucked away. Our office is right in the middle of all that local life. You can usually hear the sounds of the city right outside the window, like the rickshaws and people talking as they walk by. The building is older, which is pretty common for this part of town. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, computers, and a lot of paper. We spend our days handling whatever comes across our desks. It’s not a flashy corporate headquarters with glass walls. It’s a practical space where we can sit down and get our tasks finished. Sometimes the humidity in Kolkata makes the office feel a bit stuffy, so we keep the fans going all day long. Getting here in the morning can be a bit of a challenge if the traffic is bad, but that’s just how it is living here. We have a small area where we take our lunch breaks and talk about whatever was on the news that morning. It’s a simple setup. We’ve been at this location for a bit, so the neighbors know us. It’s a steady place to work, and we don’t try to be anything we aren’t. Just a group of people working in a quiet lane in North Kolkata.
