Megha Agarwal has a place on Bhupen Bose Avenue in Kolkata. It’s Flat 2B on the second floor of house number 59. Kolkata is a crowded city, and this street is always full of yellow taxis and people. You can hear the horns honking from the balcony. The building is one of those old ones with high ceilings and heavy doors. Climbing to the second floor is a bit of a workout every day. The office is tucked away inside the flat. It’s cozy but a bit dark. We have to keep the lights on even during the day. Megha is usually busy with her work at the big wooden desk. We have piles of papers that need sorting. It’s a bit of a mess, honestly. We drink a lot of tea, the typical Kolkata way. Sometimes we get snacks from the street vendors below. The atmosphere is very old-school. We don't have any modern office furniture. It’s all stuff that’s been here for years. We just manage things as they come. It’s a small operation. We don’t have a lot of visitors, mostly just people we know. The fan wobbles a bit, but it keeps us cool. We like being in this part of North Kolkata. It has a lot of history. We just keep doing our work, day in and day out, in our little flat.
