We are located at 21 N.C. Mitra Road in Kolkata. It’s a typical street in the 700028 area, and our office is right in the middle of it. Medica Architects & Designers Pvt. Ltd is a small team, and our workspace shows it. We have desks crammed with computers, rolls of tracing paper, and samples of tiles or wood finishes. It’s not a place designed for show. It’s a place designed for working. The building itself is just a regular Kolkata structure, nothing fancy. We spend our mornings going through emails and our afternoons usually involve someone being out at a construction site. There’s a lot of shouting across the room about dimensions or budget figures. We don't use a lot of fancy jargon when we talk to people. We just tell them what can be done and what can't. Sometimes the monsoon rain makes the road a bit difficult, but we’re always here. The office feels lived-in. There are old folders from years ago and new sketches for projects starting next week. We like being on N.C. Mitra Road because it feels like a real neighborhood. We aren't tucked away in some sterile office park. When you come to see us, you see exactly who we are—just people who enjoy the process of designing things and making sure they get built properly without any unnecessary fuss or polished corporate attitudes.
