Pbs Pay is our little shop on Dumdum Road, specifically in the Mallick Colony area. We handle things like phone recharges and small payments for people in the neighborhood. It is just a small room with a counter and a few chairs for people to wait their turn. The road outside is usually packed with rickshaws and people walking to the station. We opened this because we saw everyone struggling with their digital stuff and phone bills. Now, people just walk in, give us their details, and we sort it out on the computer. It is not a big corporate bank or anything like that. Just me and one other guy are here most days. We know most of the people who come in by their first names because they live nearby. Sometimes the internet is slow and we have to tell people to come back in ten minutes, which is annoying but they usually understand. We keep a ledger for the regular stuff. The Mallick Colony is a tight place, so news travels fast if we do a good job. We do not have a big sign, just a basic one over the door. We stay open until the shops around us start closing up for the night. It is a simple life, helping folks with their bills and making sure the transactions go through correctly. There is no big fuss about it, just daily work on Dumdum Road.
