Down here in Garia at Milan Park, things feel a bit different than the center of Kolkata. It is a quieter neighborhood mostly, though you still get that local buzz from the shops nearby. Our office is at number 95 and it has been our base for quite some time now. The street is not too wide so it gets a bit tight when cars are parked on both sides. In the rainy season, the walk from the main transport can be a bit of a splash but we are used to it by now. Inside, the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint but it feels like home to those of us who sit here every day. We usually have the windows open when it is not too humid to get a bit of air moving. Most of our days are spent handling the paperwork and technical bits that come with being part of the Kodak team in West Bengal. People stop by sometimes asking for directions because Milan Park can be a little confusing for newcomers. We have a small corner where we keep the kettle and some biscuits for the afternoon slump. It is just a simple office setup where we do what needs to be done without any extra fuss. The light comes in nicely in the mornings which is the best time to get the heavy work out of the way before it gets too warm. It is homey enough for us.
