Kiran Collection

Our place is on Mudiali Road in Kolkata, specifically at P-311. If you know West Bengal, you know the vibe of this city—it’s full of life and sometimes a bit disorganized, but in a good way. Kiran Collection is a small business where we handle all sorts of fabrics and clothing items. The shop has been in the family for a bit, and we’ve seen the street change quite a lot over the years. It’s a bit of a walk from the main transport hubs, but people still find their way to us. We don’t have a big website or a social media manager. Most of what we do is just talking to customers who walk in off the street or heard about us from a cousin. The shelves are usually full, sometimes too full, and we spend a lot of time folding things back up after someone looks through them. It’s hard work, especially during the festive seasons when everyone wants something new at the same time. The humidity in Kolkata can be tough, but we have a few fans going to keep it bearable. We’re not a high-end boutique with fancy lights; we’re just a local collection where you can find something decent for a fair price. We try to be helpful, but we’re also just regular people who might be a bit tired by the end of the day. It’s a simple life running a shop here on Mudiali Road.
