Aabak Motion Pictures

Aabak Motion Pictures is tucked away at 144B B. B. Chaterjee Road over in Kasba. It’s a busy street with lots of shops and people walking by at all hours. Our space is filled with cameras, cables, and old posters pinned to the walls. It isn't a high-end studio with soundproofing on every inch. Mostly, it’s just a place where we sit around and figure out our next shoot. Sometimes we are out on the street filming, and other times we are stuck inside editing for hours. Kasba has a lot of character, and we try to bring that into what we do. The office feels a bit cramped when the whole crew is here, but that’s just how it goes. There’s always someone complaining about the tea being too cold or the internet being slow. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, but we make do with what we have. It’s a lot of hard work and late nights, and the neighborhood usually goes quiet long before we finish. We aren't looking for awards or fame; we just like the process of putting images together. If you walk past our building, you might hear us arguing over a script or some footage. It’s just how we work. We are real people making films in a real neighborhood, and we wouldn't have it any other way. It is a bit chaotic but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
