Kajori Sen

Kajori Sen is located in the Ballygunge area of Kolkata. We are part of the Uttara Cooperative Housing Society on Broad Street. Specifically, we’re up on the 9th floor, Flat 9E. Being that high up gives us a bit of a view of the city, which is nice when you need a break from looking at the screen. The building is managed by B.Sen. Broad Street is usually packed with cars and people, but once you get inside the society gates, it gets a bit more manageable. The elevator is old and sometimes takes a while, so we tell people to be patient. Inside the flat, it’s a mix of a living space and a workspace. We have files stacked on the shelves and a couple of sturdy desks. It’s not a showroom. It’s a place where work actually happens. We drink a lot of tea throughout the day to keep ourselves going. The noise of the city stays down below for the most part, though you can still hear the distant honking. We’ve been here for years, and the space has grown with us. We don't use fancy titles or follow corporate protocols. If you need something, you just ask. We handle the paperwork and the calls ourselves because that’s just how it’s done here. It’s a busy, cramped, but productive little corner of Ballygunge where we just get things done every single day without fail. Nothing more, nothing less than honest daily work from the ninth floor.
