Jewel Craft

Jewel Craft is located at A-35 in the New Market area on Lindsay Street. If you know the market, you know it’s always crowded and full of life. Our shop is small, tucked away amongst many others. We’ve got glass counters that have seen better days, but they hold all the jewelry pieces we work on. It’s a lot of silver and some stones. People come in looking for repairs or just something small for a gift. The fans overhead hum all day long to keep the heat away. Lindsay Street is great because there is always something happening outside. We spend a lot of time talking to the other shop owners nearby. It’s like a little community here. We do a lot of the work by hand right at the back of the shop. You can hear the small hammers tapping if you listen closely. We don't have a fancy website or anything; we just rely on people walking past and seeing what we have in the window. The lighting inside is a bit yellow, gives everything a warm look. We close up when the market starts to quiet down in the evening. It’s a long day, but being in the middle of New Market is never boring. The rain sometimes leaks through the front door but we just put a towel down and keep going.
