Kolkata is a city with a lot of history and you can feel it when you walk down Metcalf Street. Jayesh Dholakia Associaties is located at number 70. The building is older and has that specific look you only find in this part of town. The address 70 Metcalf Street is where we have our small office set up. The street outside is narrow and can get very congested with rickshaws and taxis. It is a very lively place to work. Inside the office the walls are high and the fans are always spinning to keep the humidity away. We don't have any of those modern glass walls or open-plan designs. It is just a regular office with heavy desks and a lot of paper. We have been around for a long time and our neighbors know us. We spend our days going through files and meeting with the people who need our help. It is a very grounded way to work. We don't use big corporate slogans or try to sound more important than we are. We are just a local associate office doing our best in the heart of Kolkata. The tea stalls nearby are where we often end up when we need a break from the desks. Life moves a bit slower here but the work still gets done. It is just how things are on Metcalf Street. We plan to stay in this old building as long as they let us.
