We are over here at Flat 1A on P.G.H. Shah Road in Jadavpur. It’s a busy part of Kolkata and honestly, finding our door the first time can be a bit of a puzzle. Most days start with the sound of the local tea stall opening up nearby. We have been in this spot for a while now, tucked away in the 39/2/6 building. It’s not a fancy glass office, just a regular space where we get our work done. Sometimes the electricity acts up when it rains heavy, but we just wait it out and keep going. Our desks are usually covered in folders and a few half-empty chai cups. People walk by the window all day long heading toward the market. It gets loud around noon, but you get used to the rhythm of the street. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. If someone stops by, they usually just knock and find a chair. It’s a simple setup. We spend most of our time staring at screens or talking on the phone with folks from other parts of the city. The fan hums in the corner and that’s basically our background music. It feels like home because, in a way, it is. We know the neighbors and the guy who delivers the mail knows exactly where to leave the packets. It’s just us doing our bit every day.
