India Earthmoving

Our office is tucked away on the fourth floor of the E-Block building at 9/12 Lalbazar Street. If you have ever been to this part of the city, you know how hectic it can be with the traffic and people everywhere. Getting up to room 11 takes a bit of a climb, but once you are here, it is a bit quieter than the street level. We deal with earthmoving equipment and the various parts that these big machines need to keep running on construction sites. It is mostly paperwork and phone calls in this room, though we do have some smaller parts lying around on the desks. We spend a lot of time talking to operators and site managers who are stressed because a machine has broken down somewhere far away. We try to help them find what they need without making a big fuss about it. The office is not very large, and the walls are covered with old calendars and charts showing machine parts. Sometimes the lift works and sometimes it does not, so we are used to the stairs. It is a plain workspace where we focus on getting the orders right and making sure the parts get sent to the right place. We do not go in for fancy carpets or expensive furniture because that is not the kind of work we do. It is just about keeping those big yellow machines moving.
