Ideal Book House

Ideal Book House has been at No- 112 Bidhan Sarani in Shyam Bazar for quite some time. This area is always full of life, and our shop is right in the middle of it. If you’ve ever walked down Bidhan Sarani, you know how busy it gets with shoppers and trams and people just heading to work. Our shop isn't very large, but we pack a lot into it. We have shelves that go all the way up, and sometimes you need a ladder to reach the top ones. It’s a bit dusty, and the fans don't always keep the heat away, but it’s our place. We deal with all sorts of people, from students looking for cheap copies to older folks searching for something specific. We don't have a computerized system or anything fancy like that; we just know where things are mostly by memory. Sometimes we get it wrong and have to hunt around for a few minutes. It’s just how we do things here in Shyam Bazar. We aren't looking to change into some modern outlet. We like the old-fashioned feel of a real bookshop. Most of our days are spent talking to customers and trying to keep the stacks from falling over. It’s a simple life, and we’re happy to be here at 112 Bidhan Sarani, serving the community as best we can.
