Hossain Sigh Art Works

We’ve been here at 65 C, Shakespeare Sarani for a while now. Most people know us because we are right opposite Bharat Marbles near Park Circus. It’s a busy spot and there is always noise from the street, but we stay focused on the art. Some days we are covered in paint and other days we are just sketching out ideas for the next job. Hossain Sigh Art Works isn't a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a workspace where things get done. We handle a lot of different projects, mostly stuff people need for their shops or homes around here. Sometimes the weather in Kolkata makes it hard to dry the paint, especially during the monsoon, but we manage. You’ll see us working late quite often if a project needs to get finished. It’s just how it goes in this line of work. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the brushes and the tools. People stop by to ask about signs or just to see what we are making. It is nice being part of the Park Circus community. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but our little corner on Shakespeare Sarani stays pretty much the same. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes our way. If you are walking past the marble shop, you’ll see our door right there. That's pretty much us. We don't spend much time on the computer, just with our hands.
