It’s a very traditional part of Kolkata. There is a lot of life on the streets here. Our office is right in the middle of it. We do media and communication work, mostly just sitting at our desks and coordinating things. It’s not a high-rise office. It’s more of a local building that we’ve made our own. Sometimes the street noise comes inside, but that’s just part of being in Beleghata. We don’t have fancy signs or anything. People mostly find us by asking around or looking for the Sura Cross Lane turnoff. We’ve got a small group of people here. Everyone knows everyone else’s business, in a good way. We eat our lunch together sometimes. The work is mostly about talking to people and making sure the messages get out. It’s a practical setup. We don’t use a lot of big words or have long meetings. We just get on with it. If the internet goes down, we just wait it out or find something else to do. It’s a very human way of working. The address might be a bit hard to find for outsiders, but once you’re here, it’s fine. We like being part of this neighborhood. It feels like we are right in the thick of things.
