We have been working out of Room 502 at 156A Lenin Sarani for a good while now. Being on the fifth floor in this part of Kolkata means there is always noise from the street coming up, even if we are high up. The building is one of those old ones where the elevator works when it wants to, so we end up taking the stairs more often than we would like. Our space is mostly filled with electronic components, circuit boards, and various testing tools scattered on the benches. It is not a place for showing off. It is where we sit and handle the orders that come in. We spend a lot of time checking inventories and making sure we have the right parts for the people who come by. Some days it gets incredibly humid, and the small fans in the office just move the hot air around. We know most of the shop owners downstairs and usually get our afternoon tea from the same stall every day. We do not have a big team or fancy marketing people. It is just a few of us keeping track of the electronics trade. People find us because they know we have been here for years. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The paperwork piles up on the desks, and we try to stay organized, but it is a busy life in a crowded city.
