Freelancing (Media Sales)

I work out of Singur, right near the BDO office. It's a quiet spot compared to the city. I’ve been doing this media sales thing on my own for a bit now. My place is at Vill & Post Singur, so it’s easy to find if you’re local to Hooghly. Most of my day is spent on the phone or walking over to talk to people about their ads. It’s not a big agency with flashy lights. It's just me at a desk with some papers and a laptop. I handle a lot of the local stuff, getting people’s names out there in the papers or wherever they need to be. Sometimes it's stressful when deadlines come up, but that’s just how it goes. I’ve lived in this district my whole life, so I know the shops and the people around here. It’s a lot of back and forth. You have to be patient because things don't always move fast in the village. I started this because I wanted to stay close to home. It’s honest work. I don't have a big team or anything, just a few contacts I call. People come by the house sometimes to discuss things over tea. It gets the job done. I’m usually here most mornings unless I have to travel down the road for a meeting. It's practical, simple, and it pays the bills while letting me stay in my own town. Sometimes the internet is slow, but I make do. It's just me and my work.
