Flexi Chem

Working out of Garden Reach here in Srinagar means we see a lot of the same faces every day. Flexi Chem isn’t a huge operation, just a place where we get things done and try to keep the paperwork from piling up too high on the old desks. The neighborhood has its own rhythm, and we’ve mostly settled into it over the years. Some mornings are colder than others, especially when the mist is coming off the water, and it takes a bit of time to get the place warmed up and ready for work. We aren't tucked away in some shiny office building; it’s just a regular spot where the floors are a bit worn and the light is sometimes dim in the corners. We spend most of our time handling the containers and making sure the labels are right. It’s not glamorous work, but it fills the day. Sometimes the traffic getting into this part of Srinagar is a mess, so we usually try to get in early before the roads get blocked up with trucks and carts. Lunch is usually whatever someone brought from home or a quick bite from the shop down the road. We don't spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty for visitors. It’s mostly about the chemicals and the orders we have to fill. By the time we lock up at night, we’re usually pretty tired, but that’s just how a workday goes for us in this area. We might not have much, but we have enough to keep the business going and keep ourselves busy.
