About East India Crop Care Association – Agriculture & Farming in Kolkata
Our office is tucked away in Flat A1 on the first floor of 36/3 Prince Golam Md Shah Road. It’s a bit of a residential area, so it’s quieter than the main markets. Being the East India Crop Care Association means we spend a lot of time thinking about farming and how crops are doing across this side of the country. It’s a small space, mostly just a few desks and some old filing cabinets filled with papers. We talk to people in the industry and try to keep everyone on the same page about what’s happening in the fields. Some days are just filled with phone calls. Others, we’re just sitting here looking at reports. It’s not a big corporate headquarters or anything like that. It’s just a place where we get together to handle the association’s business. The stairs up to the first floor can be a bit steep if you aren’t used to them. We’ve been in Kolkata for quite some time now, and this neighborhood feels like home. There’s a tea stall nearby where we go when we need a break from the screen. Managing crop care issues isn't always exciting, but it’s necessary work. We aren't trying to change the world overnight, just trying to stay helpful to the members who rely on us. It's regular work for regular people.
