Jaman Singh

Our address is 820 Sahid Hemanta Kumar Basu Sarani on Jawpur Road. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say, but it’s where Jaman Singh is based. The building is an older one, tucked away in a spot that sees a lot of local traffic. We don't have a big neon sign or anything like that. Most people find us by looking for the landmarks on Jawpur Road. The office inside is pretty basic. We have some chairs for visitors and a desk that’s seen better days. Every morning, we sweep the floor and get the books ready. It gets quite humid here, so we usually have the windows open to catch a breeze. The noise from the street is constant, with horns and people shouting, but it becomes background noise after a while. We aren't a big team, just a few people handling things. We don't use any fancy software for everything; some stuff is still done with pen and paper because it's easier to track that way. The stairs up to our floor are a bit steep and narrow, so you have to watch your step. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time and we like the rhythm of it. It’s just a normal place where we get our daily work finished. Nothing more, nothing less. We just focus on what needs to happen today and worry about tomorrow when it gets here. It’s a solid way to spend the day.
