We’ve been running Dum Dum Foundry & Engineers Pvt. Ltd. for a while now from our spot on Netaji Subhash Road. It’s on the second floor, number 14, right in the thick of things. Engineering work is what we do every day. It's dusty and loud most of the time, but that is just how a foundry is. People come to us when they need metal parts or some specific engineering help. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Just some desks, old files, and the sound of machines. Sometimes the power goes out or the traffic on the road downstairs is a nightmare, but we still get the work done. The guys in the back know their way around the molds and the metal. It’s a lot of manual labor and sweating over details that most people wouldn't notice. We’ve stayed in this same area because it’s where everything happens. You might miss the entrance if you aren't looking for it, but once you're up here, you'll see we are just a bunch of people trying to make things right. We don't use big words or try to impress anyone with shiny brochures. If a piece of metal needs casting or a machine part needs fixing, we just figure it out. It is steady work, and we like it that way. Mostly it's just about showing up and getting the hands dirty. We've got some old machines that still work better than the new ones. It’s a bit of a maze with all the sand and the patterns we have stored.
