Douglas Fraser (India) Ltd is based at 14 Netaji Subhas Road. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s full of old, sturdy buildings and lots of history. Our office is right in the thick of it. The ceilings are high and the windows are large, letting in a lot of light even on cloudy days. It’s a busy street outside with people constantly rushing past to get to their own offices or the courts. We’ve been here for quite some time, and the wood on the desks is starting to show its age, but it’s solid. We handle a lot of the business side of engineering and trade from this spot. There’s a certain smell to the air here, a mix of old paper and the city’s exhaust, which sounds strange but it feels like home to us. We don't have any fancy signs or neon lights out front. Most people who come here already know where we are. The tea service in this building is still done the old way, which we appreciate. We spend our hours going through ledgers, answering emails, and making sure the orders are moving along like they should. It’s a steady kind of work. We aren't trying to be the most modern office in the world, just a functional one where we can get our tasks done without too much fuss.
