You can find Db Solar at 1 Sarojini Naidu Sarani. It’s an old part of the city with a lot of character and history. We’ve set up our office here to handle all our solar energy work. It’s an interesting job because every building we look at is different. We spend a lot of time looking at rooftops and calculating how many panels can fit. Inside the office, it’s a bit of a mix of old furniture and new technology. We have stacks of solar maps and a few prototypes lying around. We aren't a huge firm with a lot of different layers. If you call us, you’ll probably speak to one of the three or four people who are always here. We handle everything from the initial site visit to the final paperwork for the government incentives. It’s a lot of running around, to be honest. Some days we are out in the sun all day, and other days we are stuck at the desk dealing with technical drawings and permits. We don’t have a receptionist or a coffee machine that makes fancy lattes. We just have a kettle and a jar of instant coffee in the corner. We like the work because it feels like we’re doing something useful for the community. It’s just a group of us trying to make solar power a bit more common in this city. It takes patience, but we enjoy the challenge.
