Our place is on Metcalfe Street in the Bally area of Kolkata. The name Creation India Dot Com might sound like we are some big internet company, but we are actually just tucked away at number 42. It’s an old building. The stairs are a bit steep, so you have to watch your step coming up to see us. We handle a lot of different things here. It’s mostly piles of paper and fabric samples all over the place. Some days it feels like we are drowning in all the work. We aren't polished professionals in suits. Most of the time, we are just in our regular clothes trying to get orders sorted out for the day. The fans overhead make a clicking noise that we stopped noticing years ago. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the boxes. We try to keep it organized, but it doesn't always stay that way for long. Kolkata gets really humid, so we keep the windows open, but that just lets the street noise in. It’s a real working environment. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. You just walk in and someone will be there to help you eventually. It’s a family-run kind of thing, mostly. We just do our bit and hope the customers are satisfied with what they get from us. It’s been a long journey at this address, and we’ve seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood over time.
