Cognition Consultants is located in B-302 Topor Apartment, which is part of the Shantiban area in Kolkata. The address is in West Bengal 700 030. Since we are in an apartment building, it does not feel like a typical corporate office at all. It is more like a home that has been turned into a workspace. We have desks set up where the dining table probably used to be. Shantiban is a relatively quiet neighborhood compared to the rest of the city, which is nice when we need to focus. You can hear the birds in the morning and the sound of the neighbors going about their lives. Sometimes we have to remind people that we are actually a business and not just another family living in the block. We have a lot of books and papers scattered around because that is just how we work. The light in the afternoon is quite good in the main room. We do not have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. If you come by, you just ring the bell and someone lets you in. It is a very informal atmosphere here. We usually just make our own tea in the small kitchen and sit around talking about the projects we are handling. It is a comfortable way to work without the pressure of a big office building. We have been here at Topor Apartment for a few years and it suits us just fine.
