My address is 15, Sashi Sur Lane, right in the heart of Kolkata. It is near the Jorabagan Traffic Guard and Sobha Bazar Street. If you know that area, you know the lanes are quite narrow and full of history. I have lived and worked here for many years. My setup is very simple. I just use a part of my home to teach the students. It is not a big school or a center with lots of staff. It is just me. People usually come by after seeing my name or hearing about me from someone else in the neighborhood. The walls of the building are thick and keep it somewhat cool in the summer, which is good for studying. You can hear the bells of the rickshaws passing by outside and the general hum of the market nearby. It is a very traditional part of the city. I have a small table where I keep my books and a couple of chairs for whoever is visiting. Sometimes my neighbors stop by to chat for a minute while a student is finishing a test. It is a very relaxed environment. I do not believe in making things more complicated than they need to be. We just sit, read, and learn together. It has been my routine for a long time now, and I do not see it changing much. It is just how life goes on Sashi Sur Lane.
