Charisha Brother

The shop is called Charisha Brother and we are situated in Atghara, which is near Chinar Park on the Rajarhat Road. This is a very busy part of Kolkata and our store is right in the middle of it all. It’s a business run by brothers, so we are always here taking turns at the counter. We don't have a lot of help, just ourselves and the occasional delivery person. The store isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of wall space for shelving. You’ll find stuff for the kitchen and general household items stacked up high. Sometimes we have to use a small ladder just to reach the top shelf. We get a lot of commuters who stop by quickly on their way to or from the airport or the offices nearby. It’s a lot of work and our hands are usually a bit dirty from moving boxes around. We don't have any fancy marketing or anything, just our name on a board outside. The neighborhood is changing fast with new buildings going up, but our shop still looks much the same as it did years ago. We like the familiarity of it. We know most of the people who live in the nearby flats and they know they can find us here from early morning until late evening. It's a simple life, just running a shop with family.
