You can find us over at 45/1/1 Bhola Nath Nandi Lane in Howrah. Being in West Bengal 711104 puts us right in the middle of a very busy community. Catholic Relief Services here isn't a massive, shiny office. It’s more of a functional space where we manage the various bits of help we provide. The lane can be quite narrow, and it’s always full of people going about their business. We’ve been here long enough that the neighbors don't even look up when we arrive in the morning. Inside, it’s mostly just desks piled with reports and people coordinating logistics for different areas. It gets a bit warm in the summer, but we have some fans that do the job. We don't really do much in the way of promotion or fancy events. We just focus on the tasks that need doing that day. Whether it's organizing supplies or checking in on local projects, there’s always something on the list. The staff is a mix of people who have been here for decades and a few newer faces. We all just muck in and get things done. It’s a bit messy sometimes, especially when we’re preparing for a big project, but we usually find what we’re looking for eventually. We like being in Howrah because it feels real and grounded. There’s no pretense here. We’re just a group of people in a small office on a busy lane trying to be useful.
