Calcutta Music Club

Our place is at 795/1 M.G. Road in Kolkata. We go by the name Calcutta Music Club. We’ve been around for a while in this part of the city. M.G. Road is always crowded, so there’s a lot of energy right outside our door. We’re in the 700082 zip code area. It’s not a fancy club with velvet ropes or anything like that. It’s just a spot for music stuff. We have our rooms where things happen, and it feels pretty lived-in. There are usually instruments or papers lying around because we are always in the middle of something. We don't have a big marketing budget, so we just rely on people knowing where we are. The building is an old one, like many others on this road, but it has character. We like being in the heart of Kolkata. It makes us feel connected to everything going on. We don’t really have a formal staff, just a few of us who care about the music and keeping the club going. Sometimes it’s loud, sometimes it’s quiet, depending on the day and who stops by. We aren't trying to be the most famous place in town, just a steady one. If you’re on M.G. Road, you’ve probably passed by our number. We’re just regular people running a music-focused space and enjoying the work we do every day. It's a bit cluttered, but we like it.
