Our office is at 147 Central Road in Anandapuri, Barrackpore. It is a bit of a trek if you are coming from the main city, but we like it here. Being near P.O. N. C Pukur makes it easy for our mail and documents, which we have a lot of. Amantran Impex is basically just a group of us working through the daily grind of import and export. We spend our hours looking at spreadsheets and talking to transporters. The office is functional. We have some chairs that have seen better days and a kettle that’s always on. We don’t really do anything flashy. The work is mostly about logistics and making sure nothing gets stuck at the port or in a warehouse somewhere. Barrackpore has a different pace than central Kolkata, which is nice when things get stressful. We’ve had to learn everything the hard way, through trial and error over the years. There are no big corporate meetings here. We just sit around the table and figure out how to solve whatever problem popped up that morning. Sometimes the rain makes the road messy, and we have to move things quickly, but we manage. It’s a regular business run by regular people who just want to get the day's work done so we can go home. We don't promise anything impossible, we just do what we can with what we have.
