Our place is located in the Dum Dum Cant area, right on Dr S P Mukherjee Road. If you know this part of Kolkata, you know it stays quite active throughout the day and into the night. We have been operating here for years, serving the local crowd and people passing through the neighborhood. It isn't a massive establishment, just a regular spot where you can get a meal without any fuss. The walls have seen a lot of years, and the furniture is just standard stuff that gets the job done. We start early to get everything prepared for the lunch hours. Most of us who work here live nearby, so we know the area pretty well. There is no special story behind it, we just opened up and kept going. Sometimes the traffic outside gets noisy, but once you are inside, it feels a bit different. We focus on the cooking and making sure there is enough for everyone who walks through the door. You won't find any glossy menus or expensive lighting here. It is just an honest eating house. We deal with all sorts of customers, from workers to families, and we treat everyone the same way. It's a lot of manual work, chopping vegetables and minding the pots, but we like being part of the Dum Dum community. That’s what we do every single day. We don't have a website or anything, just this physical shop where we spend all our time.
