Asif Bangles

We are located at 109A/1 on Canning Street, which is usually a mess of traffic and people moving quickly. Asif Bangles has been in this building for quite some time now. The staircase up to our floor is a bit narrow and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it’s where we do all our work. We spend most of our mornings unpacking crates that come in from the suppliers. It’s a lot of cardboard and bubble wrap everywhere until we get things sorted. My uncle usually handles the phone calls while I manage the stock in the back room. It’s not a quiet place because Canning Street is always loud with horns and people shouting outside. We have a small window that looks out over the street, but it’s mostly covered in grime from the city air. We don't bother with fancy decorations or anything. The focus is just on the bangles and making sure we have enough variety on the shelves for anyone who stops in. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack boxes in the hallway, which isn't ideal but we manage. It’s a straightforward business. We don't have a marketing team or anything; people just know we’re here at 109A/1. We drink a lot of tea throughout the day to keep going, especially when the weather gets humid and the air feels heavy in the shop.
