Arindam Sett

My name is Arindam Sett and I work from P-16 Durgacharan Mitra Street in Kolkata. This is an old street in a part of the city that has seen a lot of changes over the years. The pincode here is 700006. Kolkata is a city of narrow lanes, old buildings, and a lot of history, and my place is exactly like that. It’s not some modern office park with elevators and glass walls. It’s a traditional space where I’ve set up my desk and my things. I’ve been here for quite some time now and I don't see myself moving. People around Durgacharan Mitra Street know me, and I know most of them too. It’s a neighborhood where you can hear the trams in the distance and the street vendors shouting all day. I don't really believe in all that corporate talk you see on the internet these days. I just wake up, come to my space, and do the work that is waiting for me. It’s honest and it keeps me busy and out of trouble. Sometimes the walls need a bit of paint and the floor is a little uneven in places, but it has character and it feels like home. I don't have a secretary or a marketing manager to handle my affairs. If you need something, you talk to me directly. I handle my own paperwork and my own phone calls. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for me and the people I deal with daily.
