Our office is tucked away in Santoshpur, right on Santipath. If you know the Jadavpur area, you know it gets pretty busy around here with the students and the shops. We have been at number 29 for a bit now. It is a plain building, nothing that really stands out from the outside. Inside, it is mostly just desks and people talking on phones all morning. We spend the day looking at resumes and trying to figure out where people might fit in different companies. Candidates come in all day long, some look nervous and others are just looking for a change of pace. We have a lot of folders stacked up on the side tables and the printer is usually making noise in the corner. The tea guy comes by around four, and that is when we usually take a short break to stretch. It is a lot of work, keeping track of who is hiring and who needs a job right now. Santoshpur is a nice place to work because it is quiet enough but still close to everything we need. We don't have any shiny posters or a big lobby with fancy lights. People just come in, sit on the plastic chairs, and tell us what they are looking for. Sometimes the rain in Kolkata makes the street a bit messy, so we end up cleaning the floor a lot. We just try to be helpful and keep things simple for everyone.
