We are located over in Kolkata on D.N. Ghosh Lane. It is Flat C 6 in the building at number 2. If you know the neighborhood, it is a pretty typical spot for this part of the city. Acknit (India) Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of this space for some time now. It’s not a massive corporate building, just a regular flat where we’ve set up our desks and equipment. Most mornings start with making some tea and looking over the production schedules. Since we are in a residential-style building, it feels more like a home than a stiff office. We have piles of samples and papers everywhere because that’s just how work goes here. The lane outside can get a bit narrow with the traffic, but we manage just fine. We have a small team and we all know each other well. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when everyone is talking at once or the machines are running, but we like the energy. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or decorations. We just focus on getting the knitting work done and making sure the boxes are ready for transport. Kolkata weather means it gets pretty humid, but we’re used to it. We just keep the windows open or the AC on when it’s too much. It’s a practical place for a practical business. We’ve been here long enough that the postman doesn't even have to look at the door number anymore.
