A. R. Belt Works

We are over at Plot No. 54 on Elliot Road, right near the bus stop in Taltala. Being near the bus stop means there's always noise and people moving around outside. A. R. Belt Works has been in this spot for a good while. We make and fix belts, mostly the heavy-duty kind for machines or whatever people bring in. The shop smells like leather and rubber most of the time. It’s a small space, and we have tools hanging on every bit of wall we can find. I started working here when I was younger and eventually just took it over. It's hard work on the hands, but it’s what we know. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of guys who know how to handle the materials. Sometimes we get busy with a big order and the whole floor is covered in scraps. We try to sweep up every evening but there’s always more the next day. People stop in while waiting for their bus to ask about repairs. We don't use any high-tech gadgets, just old reliable tools that haven't failed us yet. It's a bit dusty in here because of the materials, but we don't mind. We just focus on making sure the belts are strong and do what they are supposed to do. That's the main thing for us. We aren't here to be fancy, just to do the job right and keep the local machines running.
