Uchagaonkar Iron Works

Uchagaonkar Iron Works is over at Plot No.30 in Shivaji Udyamnagar. This place is full of the smell of metal and the sound of welding. It’s an industrial spot, and we fit right in. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Everything we do happens right here on the shop floor. My father started this, and we just kept it going. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy pieces and making sure the cuts are straight. Our hands are usually dirty by the end of the day. The workshop can get pretty hot in the summer, but we have some big fans that help a bit. We don’t really do any advertising. People just know we are here in Shivaji Udyamnagar when they need iron work done. We have a few regular customers who have been coming to us for years. It’s not a complicated setup. We have our tools, our materials, and we just get to it. Sometimes we’re working on small pieces, and other times it’s big frames. It’s noisy and dusty, but it’s where we feel at home. We just aim to finish the work on time so we can move on to the next job. That’s how it’s always been here. We just keep the hammers moving and the gates open for whoever stops by. It is a simple life but it is good to build things with your hands.
